Lauren’s Fortnight at awhiteroom

My name is Lauren Judson and I am currently at Park High School Colne. I’m in year 10. All the pupils in year 10 have to go on work experience. At first I picked to go to a hairdressers but when I went for them to fill my form in they turned me down and said that they had promised someone else. I told school and school said that I had to get my own placement. Then walking through Colne the shop a white room caught my eye. I went in and asked if they would take me on for 2 weeks and I told them the situation and they said they would. I was really pleased that I didn’t have to search any more. The people seemed really nice so I was looking forward to going.

My first day at a white room was really welcoming. All of the people were really outgoing and really friendly. I have had plenty to do there like:

Packing

Moving the displays around

Polishing and vacuuming

Helping on the website

Weighing items

Going to the post office to send items

I’ve really enjoyed my time at a white room and I’ve had a step into work life and I really liked it. I’m so glad I came to a white room because I think going to a hairdressers would have been really boring.
