Magis Moments | Milan Furniture Fair 2010
Magis have to be the outstanding brand of the show, with the ‘Spun’ chair by Thomas Heatherwick capturing the fun and
frivolity that is often lost in the serious arena of furniture design. The spun chair resembles a spinning top and akin to the comfort of a rocking chair the gentle self propelled movement created by the pointed base leaves the user in their own world.
Konstantin Grcic also made a prominent show with the ‘Venice’ chair, a sleek,
Tom Dixon brought a more familiar Magis feel with the ‘Mesh’ chair, a strong and utilitarian frame reminiscent of the De-Javu range is covered with a comfortable and adaptable mesh, that brings a softness which is often absent from Magis design.
Sticking with the Deja-Vu collection Naoto Fukasawa brought new products to the range with his quiet and unassuming design; the simplicity is so clever that the products sit in any interior with competent bravado.
